I can tell that were in the full swing of the summer season with all the ladies trying on different swimsuits, and I mean a lot of different swimsuits. It’s a mad house out there! 🙂
I am a gal with curves, so I know that it’s important to accent my hips in a flattering, comfortable, and covered way, and I like the 40’s styled swimsuits in the Swim-fographic below.
I would love to know which swim suit era you belong too, and what suits you like on Modcloth. Comment below, and lets embrace, support, and share our trendy beach body curves.
It’s a pool party over at ModCloth, and you’re invited! With so many bikinis and one pieces to pick from, you’re bound to find a standout look that suits your style.
And while you’re at it, check out ModCloth’s exploration of so-called “ideal” beach bodies in their new Swim-fographic!
It’s an intriguing look at how arbitrarily beauty standards have changed over time. Of course, ModCloth knows that every body is a beach body — the only requirements are a beach, your bod, and a swimsuit you can’t wait to flaunt!
Can you believe that swimsuit season is right around the corner? I know for some of us it’s are worst nightmare, (I’m waving my hand in the air) and for others it’s their favorite thing to shop for. 🙂
I have to admit that today the variety of styles for all shapes & sizes is quite large, but my favorite suits are vintage inspired.
To me, they are made for “real” bodies that give you some coverage and confidence in all the right places.
Now, that doesn’t mean that I want to look like I’m wearing the dreaded, “Grandma suit”, but I do like a swimsuit that’s trendy, allows me to get in the water and play, and still makes my hubby’s head turn my way.
So, here are some of my favorite vintage style suit selections that you just can’t find in a store below.
First off this high-waisted suit comes in a variety of prints, covers the butt & belly, and available up to a 22 plus.
I encourage you to check out the reviews & pictures from ladies who have already bought this suit, because you can get an idea of what this suit looks like on different body shapes.
It’s a super buy in my eyes, and don’t forget to take advantage of Amazon Prime 2-Day shipping.
Love this mostly black suit, with a pop of white dots! There’s even more coverage with the little skirt.
I personally own several different colored swim skorts, like the one above. They offer my lower pear-shaped body the most coverage, and I can pair it with any swimsuit top of my choice.
I also like that I can wear them outside of pool and around town. These skorts come in a variety of sizes, and again read the reviews from other ladies.
This lacey swimsuit has a 60’s-70’s vibe, and I love the versatility of the top. You could easily add some shorts, skirt, or summer pants and walk around town.
This bright blue and white striped one piece suit reminds me of the 80’s all the way. In fact, I had one just like it in purple. Good times.
Thanks for going back in time with me and checking out some of these really cool, vintage, suits, that I believe are just as trendy today as they were back then.
