Grow Your Own Strawberries!

Last weekend I cleared out my raised garden beds, containers, and pallet beds from all the winter debris that has collected over the last several months. What took me by surprise was that some of my strawberry plants that I had planted in my pallet garden last year were coming alive.  Come on SPRING!  🙂

By the way, I planted these strawberries in the pallets because like many of you, I live in an urban subdivision and have to come up with creative ways to grow my fruits and veggies.  To encourage you to try to grow your own food here are my beloved raised garden beds & pallet beds that are literally right behind my house.  Trust me, if this city girl can do this, so can you!  🙂

Now…back to growing your own strawberries!  First up, I found a really cool video on how to get your strawberry root plants started & ready to go from My First Vegetable Garden.  This site is full of tips & tricks for the newbie gardener with a ton of videos and articles to help you grow your first garden.

So, depending upon where you live, now is the perfect time to get those strawberry roots going & growing, and if you would like some help in choosing which type of strawberry to grow or how to plant and care for them, check out this video from Burpee.com.

I really like Burpee.com because you can build a personalized garden around your zipcode, and they have a growing calendar which tells you when to plant your veggies or fruits, and you can get all of your Gardening Supplies with detailed descriptions, related products, or videos.

But, for me the best part is the huge savings that Burpee is offering and only available online.  Here are some the current Mother’s Day offers below:

Just so ya know, that some of the links above are my referral links, which means I may get a small commission if you make a purchase, at no additional cost to you of course. Thank you for your support, and I hope you take the plunge and become a gardening green thumb!    :-)
